# Rogue API

> A REST API and MCP server over Rogue Studio (app.roguestudio.ai), an adult-oriented image and video generation platform. Generate and edit images, create and extend videos, upload references and manage projects and the library with scoped API keys, queued generations and signed webhooks.

## Essentials

- Authenticate every request with `Authorization: Bearer rk_live_...` (or `X-API-Key`). Keys are created by a person in the console and act on their connected Rogue account.
- JSON in and out, snake_case fields. Every response has an `X-Request-Id` header.
- Send an `Idempotency-Key` header with every POST; a retry with the same key returns the first result and is never charged twice.
- Generations are asynchronous. A create call answers 202 with status `queued`; poll `GET /v1/generations/{id}?wait=60` until the status is `succeeded`, `failed` or `canceled`, or use webhooks.
- Media references accept an upload id (`upl_...`), an https URL (imported automatically) or the id of an item in the Rogue library.
- Errors are RFC 9457 problem details (`application/problem+json`) with a stable `code`; the `type` URL points at the matching section of the errors page.
- Respect `Retry-After` on 429 and 503. Estimate costs first with `POST /v1/estimate`.
- Adult media is returned as URLs only, never inline.
